Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Joan Elste
The wonderful, scary photograph of a crocodile's head on the cover of the "Super Sized" series books would entice any child to explore further into the pages of this book. The modest text is informative and easy to read. It is amazing how much these creatures resemble logs, which is why crocodiles can easily fool their prey. A clear photograph depicts a crocodiles eyes and nose above the water while its large teeth remain underneath. The photographs match the text nicely, making it easy for the reader to see and understand the information. One interesting fact that the reader might find amusing is that crocodiles, besides hissing, can bark and growl like dogs. The information notes that a crocodile can live as long as 70 years. When they hunt, they can also move extremely fast despite their size. The glossary at the end of the book adds even more interesting facts and could have been made into a double page spread instead of an additional page listing more reptiles.
