Overview

Welcome to a keepsake treasury of timeless stories about Samantha Parkington, an orphan being raised by her wealthy Victorian grandmother as America begins a brand-new century. Samantha's own world is filled with frills and finery, but she sees that times are not good for everybody. Samantha dares to make a difference, befriending people and going places and saying things "a proper young lady" isn't supposed to. Because of girls like Samantha, America's ideas about what women and girls can and cannot do are about to change.

Together for the first time, these classic stories have captured girls' imaginations for more than a decade. Step inside Samantha's world of new-fangled notions and fantastic inventions, and be inspired all over again.

My daughter got this book when she was 8 years old and she still loves to read it! It's a great series book. Also a great book for both of us to read together :) We enjoy all of the AG doll series!

My daughter is in second grade. She read up to page 176 on the first full day she had the book. She absolutely loved it! 'Happy Birthday, Samantha' was her favorite story. She also enjoys learning about the past through the eyes of the character.
