Overview

In a world so dark and seductive, expect nothing less than a triple-cross in the explosive all-new Ghostwalker novel by #1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan…

In an underground club, a high-ranking public official spends his secret nights indulging in fantasies as exciting as they are depraved. For a seductive employee of the Dungeon, it’s her job to fulfill them. But she’s playing a far more dangerous game—one of blackmail, politics, and murder that reaches into the shadow world of the Ghostwalkers, and the creation of a spectacular, one-of-a-kind new weapon of defense.

But when a dictator makes his own catastrophic moves, the Ghostwalkers have no choice but to bring in two major players—a man and woman both driven by passion and revenge. Both expendable. Both with nothing left to lose.

Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
Feehan’s 10th GhostWalker novel (after Ruthless Game) is a suspenseful psychic romance burdened by an opening section that lacks plausibility. Azami Yoshiie and Ghostwalker Sam Johnson meet and fall in love during a lengthy attack on the GhostWalker compound. Their lust-filled introduction while in mortal danger doesn’t wash, even though both were psychically enhanced by an evil genius. Dr. Whitney used his brilliance to help create a secret military force. On the side he experimented with little girls, many of whom, like Azami, he tortured and then threw away. Now Azami is a successful software expert and Mission Impossible–level assassin, and she vows to thwart Whitney’s nefarious manipulations, which currently involve sacrificing Sam to an assault on a corrupt Congolese general. Sam doubts Azami’s loyalties, but she soon proves her worth to the team. Strongly intertwined thriller and romantic elements tip the balance in favor of the romance, which quickly turns poignant, but that initial credibility issue looms large. Agent: Steven Axelrod, the Axelrod Agency. (July)

    4.5 Stars

I am a long time fan of Christine Feehan’s GhostWalker series and have been waiting with bated breath for Samurai Game. This is a paranormal series but the GhostWalker series is not about ghosts. GhostWalkers are a secret group of Super Soldiers created by a brilliant scientist, Dr. Peter Whitney, who ends up going a “little” mad. They are humans born with extra sensory skills who have had their DNA altered, some by choice and some were “adopted” by Dr. Whitney as children and used as experiments. The series is complex and I do suggest reading in order. That being said, you would not be totally lost reading Samurai Game on it's on, you just don't get to see how truly evil Dr. Whitney is and the back story of all of the other GhostWalkers.

In Samurai Game we get Sam and Azami’s story. Samurai Game is an interesting, action packed installment of the GhostWalker series. The plot is multi-layered and much more than the blurb implies. I won’t go into plot specifics, to do so would definitely spoil certain plot points.

The bond between Sam and Azami is incredibly strong from the beginning and only gets stronger. Azami is fierce a fierce samurai, I would say she is one of the most kick ass heroines I’ve read. Under all her kick-assness, is a horrible secret and years of abuse. Sam….siggggghhhh, he is on my most perfect, sexy, alpha hero list. He loves Azami from the get go and is willing to do whatever it takes to protect her and make her trust him. Their first kiss…..SWOON!!!!

The emotions run high and are all over the place, fear, despair, love, passion, Samurai Game is a definite emotional roller coaster, I cried a few times while reading it. There is a lot of fighting and military “talk” in Samurai Game, there has to be because of the nature of the plot and the character of Sam and Azami. We get to see previous GhostWalkers, including Rye and Lily and hear about how members of the other GhostWalker teams are doing. I love the razzing and camaraderie of the GhostWalkers, if they were real I would be a groupie. GATOR!!! God how I love that man, his Cajun line of BS and charm is present in Samurai Game. There are some new characters introduced, including Azami’s brothers, I hope to see them all in future GhostWalker books.

GhostWalkers is a series I can’t get enough of. The last book came out December 2010, and while the wait for Samurai Game was tortuous, it was well worth it! BTW…The cover is beautiful and I am so glad I have it in print.

If you like multi-layered, sexy, romantic suspense with a touch of paranormal, the GhostWalkers is a series you really want to check out.

Another excellent addition to the Ghostwalker series.

To anonymous on May tenth: a review can be written because writers and publishing houses send out advance copies for review. I think if one is going to give a one star rating for an unread book that is shamefull! If you just want to ask a question or voice an unrelated question, you should give the author all five stars. After all it is a book review that we're after here.
I didn't think Ms. Feehan could ever top Murder Game, but she has! This book has twists and turns that draw you in and you just can't put the book down! Another great read.

    Fantastic !!!

Great series, sweet book. I have read all of Mrs. Feehans books, several times, and they and this book will be read again. They are that good. This story is more romantic than others and ends to soon. Sam and Thorn are very well matched and blend together seamlessly. I had thought that Nico would have been drawn to the Japanese brothers and sister more, maybe in another book. The rituals were very moving.

I am always left wanting more of the characters past and present. I truly enjoy her series and the way she blends past and present characters together. The newest people leave me wondering how they would be used in her next books. Loved seeing Daniel and how they are all keeping a "Superbaby" out of trouble and safe from himself and others as his powers develop and grow. All previous Alpha males are still sexy, fun and well did I say sexy? The teasing between the men is funny. The women are as lethal as the men and protect everyone while making poor Ian crazy. Loved that part. I only wish I didn'have to wait so long for each new book. I recommend reading her books in order.

Now this is really funny! Per my records from B&N this book is not due to arrive until July 3rd! Now how can anyone write a review on a book not received or published yet?
To date I have enjoyed reading this series. The first couple of books have been great the others or okay and a couple terrible.

This one was really pretty bad. Go ahead and search for the number of
times "demure" was used. It plays into Asian stereotypes
rather than building a character and because of this, well, it's
borderline offensive at times (unintentionally, I'm sure). The romance
is lacking because the female character simply doesn't exist as a fully
fledged character. I've highly enjoyed other books in this series; this
one just felt phoned in, and like a placeholder to get to other
    characters' stories.

    Honor & Family

I finished Samurai Game and the autor Christine Feehan did another outstanding job.
She portrayed Thorn aka Azami as both vulnerable and a kick ass heroine. She creates such multi dimensional characters, I adore them.
What is also important to me is the great sense of family that is apparant in all of her stories.
Sam was a caring hero but he stood his ground when Thorn thought she was too broken for a relationship.
This book takes us another step closer to taking down Whitney or at least neutralizing him.
I enjoyed the action in this book. I can hardly wait for the next book in the series.

This was an extremely boring book. I loved the series in the beg

This was an extremely boring book. I loved the series in the beginning,
but this entry really didn't further the overall story arc except to
expound on the abilities of the children, and there was really no
chemistry between the H and H, they were just "there". There
was way too much time spent on very intricate military jargon and on
story telling of a past event of a bar with a crocodile that went on for
pages and pages - again - very boring and had nothing to do with this
story. The sex scenes were ridiculously drawn out and had no spark at
all. I really didn't care about these two characters one way or the
other. Azami was like an automaton in her manner and speech, completely
without emotion, and Sam was nothing to write home about. I think this
series should be wrapped up and Dr. Peter Whitney taken care of once and
for all. Really, who is there left to write about as far as couples go?
This series started out great but has really gone downhill, and this
book put the nail in the coffin for me. I will not be buying further
books in this series unless MAYBE a final one which wraps it up, if
there ever is one. The same can be said about Ms. Feehan's Carpathian
series, which has gone on much too long. After so many books, they are
all the same, just with a different H and H. Very few authors can keep
a series going this long and still have the storyline be fresh with each
book. Ms. Feehan is not one of those authors. Save your money, or
    spend it on something else.

    Great book!

It was an interesting book. It seems as though the ghostwalkers were finally able to pick off some of the govt traitors that seem to be bent on hurting or killing ghostwalkers. It was interesting to see how others in the teams characters are evolving.

This is another great Ghostwalker book by Christine Feehan.

Azami Yoshiie is a Ghostwalker bent on vengeance and willing to remove any one that stands in her path. She is out to kill Whitney, a crazed doctor who experimented on helpless children to further his own insane agenda.

The Ghostwalker Compound is where she has set her sights on. There she will come face to face with someone she never counted on. It appears that Ghostwalker, Sam Johnson, is her equal and possible mate.

This book is full of action and hot romance. It is another hit for Christine Feehan. I highly recommend this new book in the series. You will enjoy it.

    I Also Recommend:

Only recommend if yoou are into science fiction.

I did not like this book and would not read any other "Ghostwalker" books. Too much time spent on the love scenes. I would not recommend this book for book club discussion.

I was not jumping up and down or anything. It was pretty good but I just Love her "dark series" and for me, this one just didnt quite measure up. If you love Christine's writing then give it a whirl and see what you think...I myself am going to patiently await her next installment in the Dark series.

    EXCELLENT READ!

I really enjoyed this one! I'm not into Ms. Feehan's Dark Series, but love her Ghostwalker Game Series. My only complaint is that I've had to wait so long between this book and the last in the series. PLEASE, CHRISTINE... give us another one and soon.

I enjoyed reading about the guys again, which of course, brought back their stories in my head. And I fell in love with Sam and Azami. Don't know why but when I read about Sam I pictured him looking like the actor Shemar Moore (Derek Morgan of Criminal Minds).

I loved this couple. Sam and Azami/Thorn were great together. Sam was a strong lethal man and allowed Azami to be a strong lethal woman. Of all the Ghost Walkers this amazing lady is my ultimate favorite. It will take a lot to top her character. Would highly recommend this book.
