After reading The Shunning, The Reckoning, The Confession, The Postcard and Crossroads, this is her best to date. Maybe she needed a different POV. The Amish POV comes off a little hickish in her other books. This one was better written. Could it be the husband's influence?

This was such a good book, I finished it a week ago and still feel like I wish it didn't end yet. A perfect story, and the ending is lovely.

What a tangled web we weave, when we first practice to deceive, would be the perfect motto for this thriller. I read about 90 percent of it in one day, I couldn't pull my eyes from it. Lewis, though a very talented author, still has the ability to leave some plots hanging--I was never sure whether Mellie would go see Mrs. Browning for one last time or not, and though we don't have the same religious beliefs (I believe conversion, to anything, including Christianity, is a process, not an event), her writing is written with the right spirit--the spirit to inspire others and I think anyone would be a better person for reading her books. I also highly recommend reading the Heritage of Lancaster County (a trilogy) and The Redemption of Sarah Cain.
