Overview

Santa Baby is a fun and kid-friendly adaptation of that popular, perennial holiday song that has been recorded by everyone from Eartha Kitt to Madonna. In this rendition, mother and baby spend a cozy evening preparing for the Christmas holiday by decorating the tree, hanging the stockings, and baking Christmas cookies. Then they snuggle close and wait for a surprise visitor--is it Santa, or perhaps Santa Daddy?

Musical notation is included in the back of the book, but the text stands alone as a cozy holiday story for readers not familiar with the song. This book is an adorable, sure-fire holiday hit!

Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly - Publishers Weekly
Santa Baby really is a baby in Janie Bynum's interpretation of the ole standard made famous by Eartha Kitt. Starring a toddler decked out in a red, fur-trimmed sleeper and cap, this paper-over-board rendition is sure to bring joy to any family with a new addition. Copyright 2005 Reed Business Information.
Children's Literature
The lyrics of the 1950s song, "Santa Baby," are adapted here and illustrated with sweet drawings of an infant dressed in Santa pajamas. The baby is fascinated with the Christmas tree, and gets covered in tape while assisting mom in wrapping presents. Mom and baby bake cookies and snuggle to read books, but the baby still resists falling asleep. The line "Santa Baby, let's snuggle close and cuddle tonight" is repeated when daddy finally comes home. The score for the song appears inside the back cover. The book would probably be most enjoyed by folks who remember the tune of the song and can "sing" the book as they go, or by those lucky enough to be able to sight read the music. 2005, Little Brown, Ages 2 to 4.
