Children's Literature - Cheri Stowers
Everything you ever wanted to know about Santa & Co. is found among these pages. Take a tour through Santa's cozy log house. Among the rooms you will encounter are the fairy room, the boot room, and the vapor room where the scent of Christmas is stored. You've heard about the hard-working elves, but do you know what they do when they get old? And where do they go after the Christmas season? The answers to these and many other questions are here for you to discover. And of course there are the reindeer. Dasher and Prancer are names you probably know, but do you know who the fastest reindeer is and who is the most clever? Did you know that the reindeer undergo some serious ‘reindeer training' before they hitch up to Santa's sleigh? They learn how to dodge buildings and side-step trees in midair. You'll learn all about Santa's red silk snowsuit and his magical sleigh. It has some fascinating gadgets such as a bubble timer and an altitude regulator. Beautiful color illustrations depict the many aspects of Santa's magical kingdom in intricate detail. Foldout pages and lift-the-flap cutouts add to the mystery and intrigue of this enchanted tale. Works well as a read aloud. Useful for generating discussions about Santa, fact versus fiction, and Christmas. Makes a fun creative writing or art prompt. Children may enjoy designing their own Santa sleigh, Santa house, etc. Young children may have difficulty reading the small font, but older students can enjoy reading it independently or sharing it one-on one.

    Santa Claus

For anyone, and I mean anyone, this is a tell all about the jolly old elf. The pictures are artfully done, the story is a tell all for all children, and the book was pure delightful. I love children's books and this is one of those books that rates with the best. I can't put into words how I felt when I picked the book up and started to read it. It was pure joy....can't you tell I love it. Please take a look and see if you don't feel the same way, like a kid again finding a treasure you have always looked for and then found.

Santa's and his elvish helpers' jobs exposed

When I first got this book I wasn't sure what to expect, I know when I looked through it, and it seemed very interactive. There's flaps, letters, etc. fun for kids to have a hands-on experience about what exactly before, during, and after Christmas. It has details about the reindeer, actic animals around them, different types of elves, Mrs. Claus and Santa. I was very impressed, it's so cute. There's a lot to read, it took me about 3 bedtime readings for me to finish this reading to my kids. I wouldn't recommend this book if you already exposed the truth about Santa, but as for anyone else who likes magic and fantasy, I would definately say it's a good read for kids.

    Best Santa book EVER!

I bought this book for my 3 year old niece and figured it would be a little too old for her but she would at least be able to enjoy the pictures. Boy was I wrong! She LOVED it! We've ready every word...multiple times. It has definitely added to the excitement of Christmas for us. Its perfect for when kids start asking the "tough" questions but the younger ones love it just as much. I've recommended this book to everyone I know with kids of any age.

If you didn't believe before, you will after reading this book!

'Santa Claus', AKA Gramma, sent this book to my 3 grandsons, ages 7,5, an 2. It arrived while my daughter was babysitting some of the neighbor children. She sat down to read it with the kids and all were glued to the book. 'Santa Claus' loves it too. It gives him all of the secrets about how he manages to deliver Christmas in a most believable way! It's a must read for the young and old alike.

    Incredible book! HIGHLY recommended!!

My 7 year old got this as a gift from Santa on St. Nick's Day. He loves it! It explains a lot of Santa's magic, like how he travels around the world in 1 day and how he comes into homes without fireplaces. The detailed illustrations of the sleigh and workshop and the north pole make it so believable! I highly recommend it for kids who may be starting to question. I've definately bought myself a few extra years!

My daughter and I bought this book tonight at Barnes & Noble as part of our count down to Christmas! She was so excited by the pop ups and the story of all the elements of the North Pole and Santa Claus. A great story to describe the magic of Santa.

Fabulous book filled with wonderful graphics, great literary style 'written as factual information', and many flaps, envelopes and fold outs to keep things interesting. If you didn't believe in Santa and his helpers before you will now! Gives facts about Santa and how he pulls it all together. Children as well as adutls will love it. Highly recommended to give and keep as a keepsake reflecting the magic of Christmas.

    An amazing and Magical book

I have never been inspired to write a review on any item, but this book just has to be written about! I bought it for my 4 year old daughter for St. Nick, and both she and my 10 year old daughter absolutely LOVE it! It is simply magical, and the kind of book you will take out year after year (if you pack it away with the Christmas decorations like I plan to). While this is not necessarily a book you will sit down and read to your child from cover to cover in one session, (best to be treated as a chapter book with a little section read over the course of several nights)it is something that will help you savor the entire season of Christmas together. In between readings, my daughter loved to look at the beautiful pictures, and open all the flaps and envelopes to see what treasure is hidden inside. (My 10 year old loved the book too, and has read it several times on her own.) This is a fantastic book, and I highly recommend it for anyone who still believes in Santa Claus!

    nice idea but cluttered

I looked at this book ovver and over again at the store andthought it was a nice book but 'pop up' type items clustered the pages with writting here and there I would not recomend this if you wanted to read it to a little one.

    Awesome Book

This book is just wonderful. It reads like a movie, with details galore. It's a good 'activity' book for a grandparent and child to cuddle up with and read together. A real keepsake item, and especially good for children who are good readers and naturally curious.

    The best book ever!

This book was a gift to my daughters. It chronicles everything you need to know about how Santa and the elves make things 'work'. Reads a little like a science book, not a story but that's the beauty of it as my oldest was brought right back in (from beginning to question) by the 'factual' nature of the book.
