This slim novel is based on the recent movie of the same name. The premise is good: Charlie's dad accidentally knocks Santa from the roof and has to take his place. ClichTs abound, however, as the tale is stretched to encompass the subject of reconciliation after divorce, with a disbelieving stepfather/child psychiatrist thrown in. The magic of Santa's workshop doesn't translate well in the stilted prose. Photo stills from the movie are included.
