A hilarious, original, and thoroughly modern Santa Claus tale

Telling the story of Santa, who finds he has forgotten to clean his suit in time for Christmas—this picture book has cleverly reimagined the North Pole, bringing the Santa story up-to-date for the modern child. When Santa's suit is too dirty to wear on such an important night, his dog Bobo—a canny canine reminiscent of Wallace's resourceful companion, Gromit—comes to the rescue. Armed with notes from a sewing show he's seen on TV, Bobo makes a new one out of the curtains. The race is on to make a new suit in time for Santa to deliver all the Christmas presents. Will Bobo come up with a new suit in time to save Christmas? Young readers will have lots of fun finding out in this playful comic-style book that's easy to read and packs a delightful punch line.

Children's Literature - Pat Trattles
It is Christmas Eve morning and Santa is getting ready for his big night ahead. But where is his suit? It's not in the cedar chest. It's not in the closet or in the dresser drawer. Santa looks everywhere but can't find his red suit. Enter Bobo, Santa's faithful dog who shows Santa the suit is right where he left it last year — in the laundry hamper. And it is filthy. Unfortunately the washing machine is broken. And if Santa washes the suit by hand it won't be dry in time for his long journey. What is Santa to do? Luckily Bobo learned to sew by watching a show on television every Friday night. He agrees to make Santa a new suit as long as Santa promises to fix the washer as soon as he returns home from delivering all his presents. Santa's story is illustrated in comic book style using simple pen and ink drawings, using lots of red, green and white as is appropriate for Christmas. This comic book approach gives this otherwise slight story a charm that will appeal to today's four to eight year old child. Reviewer: Pat Trattles
