A delightful holiday surprise awaits young readers of this pop-up book. On Christmas Eve, Santa is looking everywhere for Rudolph, who must lead his team of reindeer with his bright red nose. Santa seems to be having some trouble with his glasses; he mistakes one thing after another for Rudolph's red nose. Here's the fun for readers-children unfold page after page to find Santa's mistakes. The mistakes pop up as Christmas ornaments on a tree, a cherry cake, a bunny rabbit with a bad cold, etc. And what beautiful pop ups these are-large and colorful and sure to tickle the fancy of readers. Santa is helped along the way by two fun-loving elves. When he finally finds Rudolph, Santa gets a big surprise, which leaves him smiling. Readers will smile too! This story will appeal to young children and feed their enthusiasm for the upcoming festivities. 2003, Dial Books for Young Readers, Ages 3 to 6.

PreS-K-Santa is looking everywhere for his lead reindeer, the one with the red nose. But because he's wearing no glasses or the wrong glasses or dirty glasses or the room is steamy, he keeps mistaking round, red objects for the missing animal. Readers are treated to super-sized pop-ups with each opening of a gatefold page, revealing a tree with ornaments, a cake with cherries, and a red-nosed rabbit. Finally the reindeer appears, with a gift for Santa: spiffy new glasses (with red frames, naturally). With them, Santa says he'll "-be able to find all the children and make sure they have gifts on Christmas morning." Bold, stylized illustrations literally burst off the sturdy pages, which, when fully opened, may easily extend across three laps.-S. P. Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information.
