In this sizzling romance, Donna Kauffman takes readers on a seductive ride deep undercover with a man who will ignite the flames of your heart.
There aren’t many places to get a cool drink in the middle of the New Mexico desert, and divorced bar owner Blue Delgado likes it that way. Little to no competition means that she gets to call the shots: her cantina, her rules. But there’s something about her new cook that sets her senses tingling—and it’s not just the way Diego fills out his jeans. When an old friend warns her that her life is in danger, Blue realizes she doesn’t know anything about her new employee—except that Diego excites her to the core. Could a man she is so attracted to be trying to kill her?
All Diego Santerra has are his instincts, honed to precision as a member of an elite tactical squad. He keeps no personal ties that could compromise his missions: no family, no friends. His work is his life, and his new case is no exception. But the moment Diego lays eyes on the woman he is assigned to protect, he realizes that everything is about to change. As trained killers set their sights on Blue, Diego knows it’s going to take everything he has to keep her alive—and to make her love him.

Diego Santerra has come to Blue's bar for the job as a cook. He makes a killer salsa. He is really thier to work undercover to protect Blue. He was part of a group working for the goverment top secret. Blue's father is at the head of it. In fact he is testifing in court case right now and after will get a new identy. While Blue morned her father he was really not dead but he let everyone believe it to protect his daughter. Now the guys trial in which he is testifing wants Blue so he won't testify against him. Blue's former employee breaks into the bar to warn her someone wants to kill her. Then he disappears from the hospital. Blue suspects Diego but she is also attracted to him. When Blue gets kidnapped and Diego was on the back of her motorcycle and jumped off. She knows he is the one. Diego did not jump off he fell off after the second bullet wounded him. Diego throws knives amd can wound or kill them he is really fast. He is not afraid to kill others to protect the ones he needs too. Diego has no family was raised in a orphanage. Thier is a lot action and drama and romance all rolled together in one book. I would like to read more books by Donna in the future. I was given this ebook to read in exchange of honest review from Netgalley. 09/10/2012 PUB Random House Publishing Group Imprint Loveswept

Thanks to the publisher, Random House Publishing Group, and NetGalley for the chance to read this! This is the first book in the romantic suspense Delgado’s Dirty Dozen series by Donna Kauffman: Santerra's Sin is a re-issue of a Loveswept Classic Romance #811 originally published 10/96. Delgado’s Dirty Dozen #1 (Diego Santerra’s story) Other Installments: #2 (John McShane’s story) - Silent Warrior #3 (T. J. Delahaye’s story) - Light My Fire #4 (Scottie Giardi’s story) - Dark Knight Blue Delgado was raised by her Aunt Alethea and Uncle Tejo Delgado after her parents died. Blue relocated back to Villa Roja, New Mexico to open a bar/restaurant after divorcing her husband, Anthony. She has removed all complications from her life…even thing is running smooth until her cook, Leroy, decides to take a job in Florida and she is forced to hire a new cook. Her new cook… Diego Santerra is a member of Seve “Del” Delgado’s elite tactical squad aka Delgado’s Dirty Dozen. Seve Delgado is scheduled to testify against Hermes Jacounda in a couple weeks then is going into a fancy version of witness protection – never to be heard from again. Seve assigns Diego to protect his daughter, Blue Delgado, so she can’t be used against him. Of course Blue doesn’t know any of this and Diego continues to deceive her even after she is warned her life is in danger. Once in a great while, a book comes along in the stream of tired, overworked romance series that blows away all hint of category: This is such a book. A bar owner, who supersedes the stereotype, falls in love with a Killer who is both more and less than he seems. There is nothing superficial about this book. The story is told with a tenderness and honesty that made this jaded reader squirm uncomfortably, laugh, and cry. If you can find a copy of this book, get it.
