I have really enjoyed Leisha Kelly's books of the Hammonds and Worthams. The other books about these families were a real page turner and hard to put down. I found this book was different. Story did not seem as important to her, as her "preaching". She could have toned it down some and taken more time to tell Frank and Sarah's story. I felt let down on the story line. I don't think all her preaching enhanced this book at all. It wasn't necessary. Less would have been better. I felt she used her bible quoting as a filler. Instead of putting the book down I continued to read on to find out what happened to Frank and Sarah. They were great characters. She didn't tie up any loose ends. I thought she might have spoke more of the parents since this closed the story of the Hammonds and Worthams. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. I have all of Leisha Kelly's books on the Hammonds and Worthams. Just finished reading "Sarah's Promise" and could not put it down. I am expectantly waiting for the next book. This one takes place in 1946 but I suggest you start with the first book and continue reading through to this one to understand the caracters and how they got to this place in her story. Her books are about 2 families(Hammonds and Worthams) and how they survived the depression the war and helped each other. The stories are never boreing. There are happy times and very sad times but true to the real depression era.<BR/>If you did not go through the depression or had family that did you will learn a lot about life during that time in these books. I found it very interesting. Hopefully we will never have to go through that again. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
