    Loved it

I read the entire book in one night. The story is full of suspense and the charachters are well defined.

    Outstanding suspense novel

If this is the first of a series by Ernie Lindsley, I can't wait for him to bring on the rest.
Ernie took just a couple pages to develop the basic characters, then jumped right into the plot which got stronger and more suspense-filled with each page. He left little, if any, dead time to catch your breathe ... I like that.
He moved the plot quickly and easily from the focus on the main character, to focus on the supporting cast (not the offender of the main character), then continued to build on the characters and give the story some unique and interesting twists.
I would not only recommend this book, but would advise the reader to block out a larger than ordinary reading period because once you start reading, it's difficult to put this down. Normally, a book of this size, takes me several days of specific afternoon reading periods to complete ... this one was done in a little more than a day because, like I said, it's that good, that exciting, that compelling.
The only bad thing about this book is that if you should leave it on your reading table, and someone else picks it up, you might not get it back until that reader has finished. I mean it!
Thank you Ernie Lindsey for creating a very enjoyable, exciting, easy to read and understand, novel.

    Good Read recommend

I enjoyed this 297 page free book. I had a few edit problems at the end but nothing major. It was fast paced with interesting characters and a great story line. It does stand on it's own but also made me want to read the next 2 in this series.

    Solid...

Solid story, suspenseful, weii written, with some real, unexpected, and saddening twists.

My only issues: :The author uses a writing style or technque with some repetition that is a bit overdone. There are some editing problems that someone should have caught (There was a double negative that really threw me and really should not have happened.).

Look forward to reading more by this author.

You need to check this one out

It was an excellent mystery. It is a easy, quick read that has you riveted; I didn't want to put it down. It is well written, and very intense. This book is not for the faint of heart.

As a result of reading Sara's game, I purchased and have already read the next in the series. I believe there are 4 altogether in the series.

I really enjoyed reading Sara's Game. It is a fast moving story with a new character. The mystery was not easily solved, just when I had it all figured out I found out I was wrong. Sara is a great character and I really look forward to reading more books by this author especially books with Sara as the main character. This is the first in the series and I will definitely buy the next one and hope that it is as much fun to read as the first one was. I believe that this would be a good book for a book club discussion.

I think I would have enjoyed this book much better if the author

I think I would have enjoyed this book much better if the author had delved more into the villain’s past. It was only touched on briefly
to explain the 'why'. The cops seemed inadequate and I guessed who the villain was long before the revelation. I just didn't connect
with the characters and the plot as much as I had hoped. However, not bad for a freebie.

    You can't put it down.

Excellent book. Keeps you on you toes. You don't know where it will lead you until near the end. Then it makes a turn you don't expect.

    more from this reviewer

This one got an extra star because I liked Sara - she always had

This one got an extra star because I liked Sara - she always had her head in the right place. When someone kidnaps her kids and "wants to play a game", she makes realistic choices that are hard to stomach, instead of the cliché "I have to do what is right, no matter what" decisions we see heroines often make in these types of situations.

But I could NOT deal with any of the other characters. The detectives on the case made stupid calls, unrealistic decisions and simply couldn’t put two and two together. Sara on the other hand was (for some reason) far more competent than every single law enforcement officer on her case. I’ll give you an example. I like my thrillers to be plausible, and one instance that really rubbed me wrong was when the cops were questioning Sara on the situation in the first place. She gets a call from the kidnapper while sitting with them, and instead of telling them anything, she demands that they not follow her and runs off! The cops are all, well, okay then! What on Earth?! Sara calls the shots the entire time, which even leads to an innocent’s death! There is no way that would go down, ever.

There are also several pacing issues. Most of the time the author does well in keeping the writing concise and the action moving, but there are several points where there is just too much internal dialogue that readers can’t keep up with. For example (without revealing too much) Sara has to solve a riddle to reach her children. She is up against a time limit, which is counted down within the text to build suspense. However, she has this inner monologue of sorts, trying to string together the most random ideas that as a reader I couldn’t follow at all, for two whole pages. It was way too long, and a lot of the tension was lost as I tried to navigate Sara’s jumbled thought process.

I liked how strong of a person Sara proved herself to be, but the story just didn’t work for me. At least it was free.

    Impeccable

The whole concept was new to me, although I crave thrillers, I really didn't think that this was going to be an instant grabber. The plot and the development was well executed and it had me wanting more with each turn of the page. That for me, is a definite yes in my library of five stars.
