About the Author

Chevonne Reynolds het 'n MSc in bewaringsbiologie aan die Universiteit van die Witwatersrand behaal met navorsing oor veral grasveldvoels. Tans is sy besig met navorsing oor watervoels vir 'n PhD aan die Percy FitzPatrick Institute of African ornithology. Nicholas Tye het 'n MSc in Ekologie aan die Universiteit van die Witwatersrand behaal met navorsing oor voelgemeenskappe binne die KNP. Hy het as ornitoloog vir die provinsiale regering van Noordwes gewerk en is tans 'n klimaatsverandering-konsultant in Kaapstad.
Chevonne Reynolds is currently an Associate Professor of Ornithology at the University of the Witwatersrand, specialising in urban ornithology and the use of citizen science data. She is also interested in the human connection to birds and their role as providers of cultural ecosystem services.
Nicholas Tye obtained an MSc in Ecology from the University of the Witwatersrand, his thesis focusing on bird communities within the KNP. He has worked as an ornithologist for the North West provincial government, and currently works as a climate change consultant in Johannesburg.
