Purpose: This text provides for a well-organized and comprehensive review of components of nursing tested by the 1998 CAT NCLEX-RN test plan implemented by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
Audience: This book is targeted for RN students.
Features: The text contains 21 units and 75 chapters devoted to the components of nursing. Each chapter contains practice questions reflective of chapter content and of the CAT NCLEX-RN test plan. Of special interest to students preparing for this exam are the chapters that address the CAT NCLEX-RN test plan, test preparation, and test-taking strategies. Students are given a 300 item comprehensive practice examination. The correct answer, rationale, level of cognitive ability, phase of the nursing process, client needs, content area, and specific test-taking strategies for each examination question are provided. An additional feature is the accompanying software, which includes all the questions from the text plus an additional 600 items for a total of 3300 test questions.
