Overview

As a former Dominion warrior and Fallen angel, Vkhin knows how to fight. How to track his prey. And when to deal out death with brutal efficiency. Redemption isn't part of his plans-until he finds himself chasing Ria Morgan through a wasteland. Now, he's hunting for the woman who could restore both his lost wings-and his soul.

Ria Morgan was just doing her job, shooting recon photos of a secret Fallen prison. When her chopper goes down, however, she figures her days are numbered. Until the dark angel hunting her offers her a temptingly seductive deal: bond with him and he'll keep her safe. Safety's tempting-but Vkhin is even more so. Now, Ria will have to choose between long-held loyalties and the wickedly sensual pleasure of Vkhin's touch.

Meet the Author

After ten years of graduate school and too many degrees, Anne Marsh escaped to become a technical writer. When not planted firmly in front of the laptop translating Engineering into English, Anne enjoys gardening, running (even if it’s just to the 7-11 for Slurpees), and reading books curled up with her kids. The best part of writing romance, however, is finally being able to answer the question: “So… what do you do with a PhD in Slavic languages and literatures?” She lives in Northern California with her husband, two kids and five cats.

Of the three in the series so far, this book was the weakest. According to the author's website, this is a novella. So perhaps I should not have expected the level of detail in the story. I was really looking forward to seeing what would happen with Vkhin after the last book, but was disappointed when the story was told. The bones of a good story were there, the plot had so much potential. However, the characters were not as fully developed as they were in the other two books. It felt like there were lots of shortcuts. The hero & heroine lacked depth, as did the main villain. The story read as rushed and incomplete.

This short story was a real let down. It's the third book that Marsh has done involving the 'Fallen' in the first two she establishes rules and conditions for how things needed to come about which she completely disregarded in this book. Also the relationship between the two main characters isn't developed as well as it could have been even taking into consideration that the book itself is so short. In addition to that the plot and its connection to the other books plots is saddly underdeveloped. If she writes more in this series I hope she models them after the first book and not this one. I was extremely disappointed.

    Great Novella

I think this was a great novella and nice to finally see Vkhin's story. It's short but good. I look forward to the next story in the series.
