Savage Ecstasy

It was like lightning striking, the first time they looked into each other's eyes: Gray Eagle, the captured Indian brave, and Alisha, the beautiful young settler. As the proud Oglala warrior was being tortured by his white captors, only Alisha seemed to notice that he was a human being--handsome and strong, and one who took her breath away. But if Alisha could have read Gray Eagle's thoughts she would have been even more disturbed. Because from the moment he saw her, the Indian knew he had to possess the fair-skinned one--and his life would not be complete until he had made her his slave!

I have read the complete Savage Ecstasy Series. In fact I have read the series so many times that my book are falling apart. I can tell you that the research and the story line are flawless. It is a completely wonderful story of the ever changing way that lives change and adapt to their surroundings. I laughed , cried, rejoiced and suffered along with Wanmdi Hota and Shalee. This series will always be a part of my heart. I have never read another book that even comes close to this type of writing excellance. You sent this seris off the charts Janelle.

I HAVE NEVER READ A NOVEL THAT HAS TOUCHED ME AS THE ECSTASY SERIES. I FELT A PART OF THE OGALALA TRIBE DUE TO MS. TAYLORS INDEBT RESEARCH. THIS WAS NOT JUST A BEAUTIFUL LOVE STORY, BUT A GREAT LEARNING EXPERIENCE OF THE SIOUX LANGUAGE AND TRADITIONS. I COULD NOT WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT BOOK WAS ON THE SHELF. GREY EAGLE AND ALISHA BECAME A PART OF MY LIFE. THANK YOU JANELLE!

I thought it was sweet, beautiful, romantic and so educational when it came to the way of the tribes and their language. I was totally hooked. The only thing missing was a picture of Gray Eagle on the cover, but she left that to our imagination.

Excellent series. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the books in this series, but this first one is still my favorite. Ms Taylor has a gift for writing that is hard to compare to. I understand that there will be those who find the harshness 'distasteful' but it was appropriate considering the time and the culture of people. I enjoyed the historic aspects of the story, and I think she tried hard to remain accurate where possible, I think it really added to the storyline. I understand its a work of fiction, but the historic backdrop was great. Typically a novel like this one acts as a brief escape from the day, most novels serve that purpose well. This novel, however, was much more than that. It reads more like an 800 page novel - I couldn't put it down. She really draws you into the Oglala lifestyle, and the characters become a part of you. You look forward to what will happen to the characters next, not just what happens in the story line.. When I finished, there was no question in my mind that I would read the next one, and then the next. Highly recommend. (FYI, this is the first review I've written in over 200 NookBooks read, that's the impact of this series)

This book was TERRIBLE, and I'm having a hard time believing that anyone liked it. The heroine was a shallow, sniveling crybaby and the story dragged on and on. The "hero" was an abusive bully. Save your money and skip this one.
