Savage Guns

Spoiled, brash King Bragg is going to hang for the murder of three men in a barroom. But King's arrogant father—and his beautiful sister—use their powers of persuasion to convince Cotton to look into the shooting. And when Cotton does, he uncovers some disturbing secrets about one Crayfish Ruble, the second biggest rancher in Puma County. Soon, Cotton is surrounded by some people who want to hang King now, some who want to bust him free, and some too busy keeping their stories straight... Here is that savvy and determined lawman. The Braggs, King Bragg

Here is that savvy and determined lawman. The Braggs, King Bragg to be specific is the spoiled rich son of one of the largest ranches around. Accused of a murder he swears he didn’t remember committing, his father tries to get Cotton to let him go to no avail. He does however take several more looks at the testimony and facts of the case. Cotton is under a time limit but manages to ferret out the facts while deterring King’s father and sister from continually trying to break him out of jail. As each layer is peeled back, the other factors that pop up are stunning. This book brings Cotton into sharp focus with his skills, determination, and sense of moral truth and obligations. It was a very good book.

    Great series.

This is a great book. It is a series about a ruff around the edges character that becomes sheriff. He is not sure he even wants the job, but he is the type of person that gives it his all in everything he does.
