SAVE MY SOUL DESCRIPTION:

All he’s asking for is her soul.

After buying the antebellum home she’s fantasized about since childhood, Anna Worthington discovers Luc, a dangerously seductive incubus who has been trapped in the house by a fifty-year-old curse. To rid herself of her problem house guest she’ll call on a priest, gypsies, ghost hunters, and the coven of witches from lust bunny hell. All she has to do is resist him long enough to break the spell so they can go their separate ways. If she doesn’t, she could die.

And that would be the best case scenario.

HEAT LEVEL: Some sexually explicit content. 3 out of 5 flames.

EXCERPT:

Instead of Beatrice, it was about the best looking man Anna had ever laid eyes on––airbrushed magazine spreads notwithstanding. Dark hair fell around his face, framing an olive complexion and cold, bright green eyes that appeared to burn with a light of their own.

They seemed to pull her in, hypnotize her. They were eyes that had known violence. Whether as the victim or the perpetrator, it was too hard to tell, but she suspected the latter.

His lips were as full as any man’s had a right to be, and Anna had to stop herself from imagining nibbling on his lower lip. He had the kind of cheekbones sculptors spent a lifetime learning to chisel into stone. Rather than sitting in the chair, he seemed to drape. Casually. Sinfully.

Shirtlessly.

She closed her eyes and raised a hand to her head, feeling for bumps. After what she’d just experienced the last thing that seemed normal was lusting after a hot stranger in her bedroom. Maybe she was dreaming again.

The next words to fly from her mouth were so stupid she would later blame a mild concussion. “You should know this house is haunted, and the last guy who tried anything got beaten bloody for his trouble. So you should ask yourself if it’s worth losing your good looks over.”

His deep, familiar chuckle slid into her, too fluid to be human. Anna vaulted out of the bed, taking the sheets with her, wrapping them around her frame as she went.

“I’ve seen it all,” he said waving a hand away as if he could never be moved by such banal things as nudity.

Not while I was conscious, Anna thought. She backed farther away as he stood and advanced on her. “Um . . . so Beatrice isn’t here?” Diversionary tactics weren’t her strong suit.

There never was a Beatrice. It was him. Her throat tightened again as that thought slammed fully into her brain. She tried to shut out the memories of all the times she’d been a little too naked in the house, either ignoring the ghost or thinking it was a woman.

A slow smile spread over his face. “I’m the thing that killed her.” Fear pulsed through her at his words, and he seemed to savor it like wine. “Beatrice went to Heaven where all good girls with intact souls go when they die. Tell me, my dear, do you think your soul will be intact when I’m finished with you?”

Anna wasn’t sure what was required to keep her soul intact, and was even less sure she could manage to follow whatever the rule was. Especially since she found herself simultaneously repelled and attracted to him.

A fun, sexually charged novel chuck full of captivating supernatural creatures!

After her father passes away, Anna Worthington moves into the house that she has been drawn to since a child. Claimed to be haunted by the ghost of a woman who died in the house fifty years ago, Anna doesn't believe in the supernatural until the supposed ghost takes form in a dark and sexy incubus named Luc.
Cursed by a witch and trapped in the house Luc must feed off the residents or have his meals brought to him by the incubus leader, Cain, but being surrounded by humans has brought the humanity out in him. Feeling more human then demon now, Luc falls hard for the spunky Anna but can he convince her that their love is worth more then her soul and the house that she has dreamed of since childhood?

Save my Soul is the second novel in Zoe Winter's Preternatural series and my first read from this author. It was a great stand-alone and I did not feel that I was missing anything in jumping right into the second installment in this series.

Packed with mass amounts of sexual tension and danger Save my Soul was captivating with a plot that continuously flowed quickly and smoothly. Each character was endearing and well devloped, along with the world built around them. Anna was a feisty, smart and independent protagonist who sticks to her morals and sense of right and wrong throughout the story. Luc is possessive and protective, a great alpha male to fall for despite being a soul-sucking incubus. He tugged at your heart and had me rooting for him throughout the story. The story line was fresh and unique, full of action, humor, suspense and intrigue, and numerous supernatural characters that kept it interesting.

A great read and I look forward to reading more from this fabulous author!

It started off promising but then...

In the beginning i thought oh! This is kinda interesting especially since i dont like incubus books, wasnt aware this was one when i dowloaded it. I saw the word FREE and the decision to read this was made. But anyways Anna was so ANNOYING! I mean she was killing the story for me, i literally liked everybody except her and that does include the prostitutes. I didnt like the constant back and forth fighting and bickering between anna and luc. It wasnt sexy. It was frustrating. Ive never heard the word snark or snarky before and clearly the author was a fan of the word but different races say different things so whatever - but it was still a corny word lol..anyways the author lost my enthusium and interest half way thru the book. Anna was just to irritating for a lonely young girl who got her heart broken by a dude who im sure showed signs of not commiting and its like get over it! either get with luc or dont care and stop the back and forth already ugh smh so annoying this book gets a thumbs down for lack of a decent herione.

    Sweet Demon

I am still new to the demon world and this story was a good way to get them on my good side. Luc is such a sweet demon if demons can be sweet that I found him as irresistible as the main character, Anna.

I should also mention that the demon focus was on an incubus.

ooo, and there is a cool twist in the end that I liked to this paranormal romance.

Wow! Great Story. Great characters. Great snarky writing. Can I have more?

I really enjoyed the infusion of humor in the dialog. Naturally the story was hot too, but what set it apart was the fun and the orginality of the incubus.

    Great paranormal romance!

I have to admit that I was first drawn to the book because of the cover. There was just something about it that made me want to read it. Now that I've read it, I have to say that the characters on the cover are a perfect fit! In this book, we have Anna - a strongly, independent woman who is buying a house that she has dreamt about since she was a child. We also have Luc - an incubus trapped inside of the home because of a curse.

With the fact that Luc is a demon who feeds off of sex, you would think that the whole book would be erotic - but really it's not. In fact, Anna and Luc take a frustratingly long time to get together. There is however, a lot of sexual tension. Anna is very stubborn and determined to get Luc out of her house, no matter how attracted she is to him.

I loved seeing Anna interact with the "ghost". There were a lot of humorous moments. This was one of my favorite lines:

"She'd be damned if some freaky sex demon was going to screw up her Barbie Dream House."

I didn't really like Luc all that much at first. He just seemed like an overconfident prick. After awhile though, he softened and became much more likable. He had a lot of redeeming qualities - even though he did need a harem of women. I also really liked the banter between these two characters.

There was a big twist toward the end that I didn't know what to think of. One one hand, it was clever - but part of me just wasn't happy with it. Overall, I thought this book was really good and I'd recommend it to any adult fan of paranormal romance. Zoe Winters is an author that I will be trying more of!

A haunting read you will devour!

After many long years and the death of her father, Anna Worthington has returned to her hometown down South to set her father's affairs in order. After seeing her dream home up for sale, Anna decides to purchase it despite all the rumors of it being haunted. Anna happily moves into her new home and soon starts to realize the town's rumors might not be rumors after all. Her dream house comes with it's own sexy incubus named Luc that has been trapped in the house for over fifty years by an awful curse. Anna is instantly attracted to the smart mouthed Luc but is determined to find a way to get him out of her house and out of her life, in her attempts to "exorcise" the incubus she'll learn it's no mere coincidence she's bought this house. Anna holds the key in breaking Luc's curse but the price for his freedom is something she's not willing to pay. The beginning of this book was such a surprise! I don't scare easily but I must admit I wanted to sleep with the nightlight on after reading the first few chapters of this book, luckily it got less creepy the more I read and I was able to sleep with the lights out (haha). That being said, I found this to be an intriguing read. I want to say this is my first paranormal romance with an incubus and I found the concept very original. The author's writing style of mixing humor and mystery pulls you in and keeps your interest until the final page. Anna and Luc are fun and lovable characters. The sexual tension between these two is first class! The slow build of their relationship gives you a better look inside the characters and their emotions. I loved that Anna isn't a "loner" heroine and has a best friend that sticks by her in good times and bad. The secondary characters are just as entertaining and add a little spice to the plot. There are plenty of twists and turns that keep you engaged and reveal a climactic ending! Save My Soul is a heartwarming love story with memorable characters that is brilliantly written. I love a book with an unpredictable ending and this was just that. It's a top notch paranormal romance with the best of elements: mystery, steamy romance and great humor! A must-read in my book, trust me, you won't be disappointed. Although second in the series, Save My Soul can be read as a stand-alone without a problem.

    A fun find!

A fun romp in an old southern house. Had a great cast of characters and a interesting story line. Not as much sex as I would have expected, given the paranormal storyline, but I think that would have been too much. Those scenes were well integrated into the plot and not thrown in just for the hell of it. Also appreciated that there was something left something to the imagination and didn't spell everything out in graphic sexual detail. Then again, I'm a gay guy, so the lack of detail may be an issue for others. Hope to read more by this author!

    Awesome

This is my first book I have read from Zoe and I will now be going out and getting more. This book was totally awesome.

It got me wrapped in the story within the first chapter. At first I was thinking oh crap this is going to be freaky but I was okay.(in case you were worried) Once you get into this book you will not be able to put it down. As we go through it to we meet some really enjoyable characters. Like the posse of hookers. Even they were just really fun and you really wanted to see them around.

The way Anna and Luc's relationship developed was brilliant. It wasn't head over heals in love or jumping into bed real fast. You really could see them growing on each other and understood when they pulled away.

Oh and the ending I so did not see that coming. I was pretty damn surprised. I honestly would never ever have guessed that. Which to me is GREAT! This whole book weaved together perfectly. Even little tid bits you hear get wrapped up!

Great Book, can not wait to read more from Zoe.
