From Barnes & Noble

Ace four-legged newsman Geronimo Stilton returns with another fast-moving rodent adventure. In this first-mouse narrative, Stilton shares the story of what was supposed to be a relaxing adventure to Whale Bay with the his friend Petunia Pretty Paws. Things, however, take an unexpected turn when the pair encounter a quite helpless great white whale. Once again, Geronimo comes to the aid of his fellow species. A cute, entertaining series for kids nine thu 12.

Children's Literature - Heather Welsh
Geronimo the Mouse is back, and this time he is going to his favorite childhood vacation spot: the Bay of Whales. The Bay will be the perfect place to let Petunia Paws know that he has a crush on her. There is just one problem: Petunia invites her niece, Bugsy Wugsy, and Geronimo's nephew, Benjamin Stilton. How is Geronimo supposed to spend time with Petunia with two young mice tagging along? To make matters worse, the Bay is now polluted with trash and smog from factories. Many other things make this the most "miserable vacation" Geronimo has ever had, including sunburns, a lost bathing suit, and three busybody mice that keep snapping pictures of all of his misfortunes. Geronimo is focused on how terrible the vacation is going until the group discovers a beached white whale. Will the mice be able to save the whale in time and clean up the Bay? Will the vacation be a success or a complete disaster? The book has excellent illustrations and character profiles are inserted throughout the book. These profiles help readers keep track of the many characters and how they all relate to each other. This is especially helpful if the reader has not read any of the other books in the series that may have explained who these characters are. The large font, humorous plot line, and numerous pictures will appeal to reluctant readers. The how-to tips throughout the book are interesting. For example, tips about how to prevent seasickness, observe and identify whales, help a beached whale or dolphin, and steps to take to clean up the environment. Teachers will enjoy how the parts of speech are in different colors that often compliment the meaning of the word. For example, the words scorching and hot are in red hues and font that resembles flames. Nouns, adjectives, and verbs are also presented in various colors and fonts. The insert about Herman Melville and Moby Dick provides an author and literature connection. Students who enjoy the "Geronimo Stilton" series may also like the "Thea Stilton" series, which chronicles Geronimo's sister's adventures. Reviewer: Heather Welsh

    Text size

The text size is very small. If you were to try to change the text size, it wouldn't work. It only changes parts of the story, like the table of contents.

    This book is awesome!

This book is a really great book because Geronimo Stilton saves the bay of the whales. He doesn't have much money at the end because he gets robbed. He is willing to have no money to save the whales. That is very generous and he is helping the endangered species. I like that because I also try to help the environment by picking up trash at the beach. You should read this book because it teaches you about saving nature and it is a very funny book.

really interesting and highly recommended-you must check it out!!

it mostly talked about and what he's doing but what i liked about it is that it tells you what to do if a whale or dolphin washes up on shore.
