Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Paula Rohrlick
Best friends Jamie and Tom head back to Dino World through their secret cave in this seventh title in the "Dinosaur Cove" series, but they find that everything looks different there now. This time the eight-year-olds have landed in the Jurassic Period and they are excited to learn about a new set of creatures. Their little Cretaceous dinosaur friend Wanna shows up, too, and the three help to rescue a runaway Stegasaurus egg when it rolls downhill in a rainstorm. A "Fact File" at the beginning introduces the characters and the dinosaurs, which is a big help to those new to the series, and there are maps and a glossary along with many detailed black-and-white drawings. Dino-mad readers will enjoy this brief adventure and pick up some useful information about ammonite fossils along the way. Reviewer: Paula Rohrlick

You have to check out this cool book!

Tom and Jamie continue their adventures in the Jurassic Period. The suspense and action made me wonder if they could help the stegosaurus. This is an ideal book for first to third graders interested in dinosaurs as it delighted my future paleontologist.

    I Also Recommend:

Great for beginning readers & lower level alike!

If your child/student likes "The Magic Treehouse" series, they will LOVE "Dinosaur Cove"! Author, Rex Stone, does a wonderful job of bringing detail forward in a way that below average readers may understand and get involved in. One of my less than enthusiastic readers read #1-8 in a matter of 2 weeks!!! I had to work double-time to keep up with reading/making/entering Accelerated Reader tests, our program did not include this series.

    review from an 8-year-old

My son loves this series. He has read all of them. He says he learns about dinosaurs and the different time periods. A lot of his classmates read them.
