Dr. Karyn Hall has been in private practice for over twenty years and is the founder and President of The DBT Center in Houston, Texas. The Center is a private practice offering both standard and intensive DBT treatment. She focuses on working with treatment resistant depression, trauma, suicidality, self-injury, eating disorders and borderline personality disorder. An expert in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, she is a trainer/consultant with Treatment Implementation Collaborative. She is co-author of The Power of Validation (2011) and author of Mindfulness Exercises (2013) and The Emotionally Sensitive Person: How to Find Peace When Your Emotions Overwhelm You, scheduled for publication in 2014.
She is on the Board of Directors for NEA BPD and has presented at both the NAMI national conference and state conference. She has presented for NEA BPD and presented at numerous workshops. She has served as a consultant for implementation of DBT in residential treatment, private inpatient and for county mental health organizations.
