Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Melissa Hower
In this book about manners, a princess learns that manners are important no matter who you are. The princess is quite demanding. She demands her dinner, her potty, and her teddy bear. The queen and the general gently remind the princess that she must say please in order to get what she wants. She eventually begins to use the word please without being reminded. As she goes for a walk, the princess meets an impolite monster. She passes her newly acquired knowledge about manners onto the monster. The princess explains to the monster that he must say please to get what he wants and when his request is met, he should say thank you. The pictures in this book are full of color and the faces of the characters are filled with expression. This book entertains with delightful pictures and a simple message. It would be an excellent addition to any character education program.
