About the Author

Max was born Monique Renay Maxwell and is the proud parent of a brilliant daughter, Nyomi. Max was raised in Brooklyn, New York and is the eldest of five children. She earned her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology, minor in English, from Hunter College (CUNY). Max taught Middle School Reading/Language Arts for two (2) years and earned her Masters in Educational Management.

Poetry lives within the struggle, passion, and progression of Max's life and has invaluable meaning to her. Max is an advocate for justice, truth, and self-expression and poetry allows her to address personal, professional and political concerns with a little flavor.

Say Some Thing is a response to life.
