Very easy read -- funny, romantic, & slightly suspenseful. Loved the characters -- particularly Aunt Sue & Aunt Mille!

I thought this book was a funny, adventurist, touching, and suspeseful romance. Tina Bender is a quirky gossip columist with a gife for writing spicy and original sarcastic barbs about celebritis lives. She ride a hot pink motorcycle, has a secret online romance with an unknown man, lives with her absent-minded loveable aunt, and has deadly threats against her life. Her boss hires a sexy ripped bodyguard to keep her safe. A great book to read.

I just finished this book, and honestly can say that I enjoyed reading it. Scandal Sheet really exceeded my expectations - as a guy, I did not think that I would be in her target audience, but I found myself enjoying the plot, the characters, and the witty approach to telling a tale laced suspense and intrigue set in modern times in LA. To me, it was a story well told. Gemma Halliday's characters were developed nicely so that I could "feel" them; and the situations within the story were credible enough to make it interesting to find out how the story ended. If you like an entertaining story with modern-day characters, you should like this book. There is a romantic element to this story as well, but it is not at all told in graphically sexual way, rather it is the development strong emotions within a relationship that is moving from a casual hint of possibility towards a greater closeness. Quite nicely done!

This I got when it was a free download. I loved it. I have ordered more from her because it was wonderful. Hilarious and still you were trying to figure out who did it.......Would recommend to everyone!!

Definitely worth reading. An easy read. the story line held my interest. Funny. This reminded me of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. So if you like the plum series you should read this and if you liked this book you should definitely check out the Plum series. I thought the cover is a little misleading. I though there would be some hot and steamy scenes but just teasers. oh well, still enjoyed the book.

First of all, you CAN judge a book by it's cover, because this one is gorgeous and the story won't let you down. I loved it. Gemma Halliday can hold her own among any of the great romance writers.

This was an exciting and compelling story. I loved every word of it. I think you will also. The reporter did a great job finding her theatening person and it shocked her and me who it was. Must read.

Great book and had a hard time putting it down. Only problems were the editing. We are so reliant on technology that we overlook misspellings. There were numerous incidences of words that are spelled correctly but used out of context and got rather annoying. For example; our/out and addition/addiction. Should maybe have a "real" person proofread. And also, seemed like towards the end the editor got real lazy and said screw it. The last few chapters were un-punctuated and made it rather hard to follow the read. Still a great book and great plot, glad I read it.

This was my first book by Gemma Halliday, it was given to me as a gift. I couldn't put it down! Finished it in a night. It was great. And I loved the writing style of the author. I am buying some more by this author. :)

L.A. Informer gossip columnist Tina Bender flirts on line with ManInBlack as her only alleged male in her life besides her boss. Tina has no significant other except perhaps Hollywood as she resides with her beloved Great Aunt Sue in a retirement community. She is very worried about Sue, who seems increasingly absentminded. When Tina receives a death threat phone call accusing her of malicious lies and deserving instant death, her boss Felix Dunn hires bodyguard Calvin Dean to protect her. The reporter resents Cal hanging around until the threats intensify. A murder too close for comfort shakes up Tina but the intrepid Hollywood journalist decides to kick butt; however her super investigative skills place her in danger of becoming the next victim. The first Hollywood Headlines romantic mystery is a wonderful throwback investigative journalist thriller that will remind readers of play/movie The Front Page and His Girl Friday. The story line never slows down as Bender curses and cajoles her way into getting the dirt and gossip while Dean tries to keep her safe, a mission impossible chore due to her always being on the front lines. This is a terrific suspense tale with more appearances from the woman who writes the Scandal Sheet Hollywood Headlines and the man who tries to keep her safe in his arms. Harriet Klausner

Fluffy. Take 1 paparazza, one scandal rag, a lot of testosterone, and a boatload of snarks and humor and you have a nice beach read.

Possibly the best yet of Gemma Halliday's books (and I think this is the 14th one I've read). Sharp, funny and just a perfect read after you have had too much reality from your everyday life. I am also filling out paperwork to have Aunt Sue and Aunt Millie adopt me.

Wonderful Humorous Book! This is a great humorous book by Gemma Halliday. This is the first book in the Hollywood Headlines series. This is such a fun read that had me reading until the end. Tina Bender is a gossip columnist for a tabloid and is not afraid to print what she knows about everyone. That is until she receives a letter telling her “If you don’t stop writing about me, you’re dead.” The problem is she doesn’t know who sent it to her. She gets the help from her friends to try and solve who sent her the letter and why they are willing to kill to cover up their secrets. I can’t wait to read the next books in this series. This book has it all humor, romance, and mystery. A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

(FTC:If I can ever stop laughing I will tell you I received this book from the author as a thank you for signing up for her newsletter. In no way did this influence my opinions, which, as usual, are 100% my own) Without a doubt, this is the most fun I have had reading a mystery in a long time. I was laughing so hard towards the end.... OK, that said, I love the chracters in the book: Tina Bender, the gossip reporter, her Aunts Sue and Millie, ,her boss Felix, and the other various worker bees at the paper, and Cal, a recent addition to this very long list who figures heavily in the story after some disgruntled reader threatens Tina. I am not a plot spoiler, so all I can say is pull up a virgin margarita, put your feet up, and get ready for a ride around Tina's Small World

Exceptional book by Gemma, I couldn't help but laugh at Tina.  Nice tie in with the Highheels series

The book was not the worst published material I've read but it was not the best either. The plot was standard, the characters shallow, the romance without emotion and the situations the characters found themselves in as well as their solutions were entirely unreal. But if you can get past that and a little bad grammer, the style of writing kept it interesting and engaging. Over all it was an entertaining read.
