What You See

Sheltered and more than a little naïve, Lady Nessa Haughton was raised to be a model of English virtue. But beneath the inexperienced young widow's prim yet exquisitely beautiful exterior beats a willful heart longing for a taste of wickedness that would shock her proper sister and the rest of London Society.

Isn't Always

The new Marquis of Foxhaven, dashing Jack Ashecroft, is England's most revered war heros and its most notorious hellion. Though he's inherited his beloved grandfather's title, Jack must reform his rakish ways to gain his fortune. Vowing to earn respectability, he sets out to find a proper wife—a woman above reproach who can redeem his reputation.

What You Get

Irresistibly drawn together, Nessa and Jack each seem to be exactly what the other wants—or so they think. Will their mutual attraction lead to true love, or irreparable ruin for them both?

Author Biography: Brenda Hiatt is the author of ten novels, most of them set in her beloved Regency England. Currently, she's having great fun with her new "Saints of Seven Dials" series, of which Rogue's Honor is the first book. When she takes a break from the past, Brenda embraces the future by teaching writing classes on the internet. She has lived in Virginia, Texas, Hawaii, and South Carolina, and now resides with her husband and daughters in Indiana.

Editorial Reviews

Kathe Robin
Brenda Hiatt beautifully captures the era as we watch Jack and Nessa play by the rules of society while making a few of their own. She fills the pages with historical details, from the ambiance of the ton, to masquerades, to missions in France. Sensual. —Romantic Times
Publishers Weekly - Publisher's Weekly
Womanizer Jack Ashecroft is stunned to learn that he has become the new Marquis of Foxhaven, and he is ill prepared to accept his new responsibilities. He is further dismayed to learn that the estate's funds will be held in trust until he proves himself respectable. Although his notorious exploits have left him unwelcome in most homes, Jack determines that the surest course to redemption lies in marrying a woman with an impeccable reputation--and the beautiful young widow Nessa Haughton seems the perfect candidate. What Jack doesn't know is that Nessa is actually sick of her prim and proper lifestyle and is itching to let loose. Soon hero and heroine lock horns in an embrace that eventually blossoms into heated passion. In her newest Regency, Hiatt Gabriella handles the ensuing story beautifully: it is fast, witty and fun. Great Read!

Great Read! I enjoyed this book. The author drew me into the story. It had romance, intrigue, and adventure. I would have loved to feel what the characters were feeling instead of just reading it about it.
