No trace of historicism, no mere archaic lumber; this recording is Scarlatti himself speaking in our century, released from the harpsichord into the heaven of the piano's further resources. It is the ideal ''musically informed'' performance. No other disk currently available serves the music so extraordinarily well; this is the venue the composer wrote for, not his (admittedly remarkable) student/patron, the Spanish queen. A benefactor of mankind would subsidize innumerable more such performances. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
