    A waste of time and money

    A wanna-be 'Nightrunner' series without the strong character or story development. Main story lines are mentioned but never fully developed, important details and events glossed over. An entire battle intrinsic to the suspense build leading to the conclusion is completely left out; the general leaves with the army and a few days later returns victorious with the villain not even mentioned. None of the characters are very well fleshed out... mostly named, given a few lines and gone. Even the two main characters aren't given personalities, just a rudimentary I-have-problems/secrets-I-can't/won't-share-but-I-want-to-spend-my-life-with-you anguish. A 3 book series that could have been done in only one.
