Overview

Sometimes the deepest scars are the ones you don't see.

Everyone in Jonesville thought that Bryce Evans had the perfect life in High School: he was the Mayor's son, the quarterback for the football team, the boyfriend of the head cheerleader and had a 4.1 GPA. His acceptance to Notre Dame came as no surprise but when he chose to enlist in the marines instead everyone was shocked.

Lexi Lord was the quiet girl in school and kept to her small group of eccentric friends. She had no connection to any of the popular kids except for one incident on Prom Night when her path crossed with Bryce's.
When Bryce enlisted Lexi was the only one that wasn't disappointed and decided to send him anonymous letters as a way to feel connected to him. She stopped after a year because she felt there was nowhere for their relationship to go.

Fast-forward four years and Bryce is back in Jonesville and once again he and Lexi cross paths. Only he's no longer the seemingly perfect man and Lexi's no longer the quiet girl.

This time their relationship is quite different but both of them have secrets from the past and friends that threaten to ruin their chance at happiness together.

This book reads as the amateur effort of a sixteen year old girl. The characters are extremely immature for their supposed age and very underdeveloped. The point of view shifts between a man and a woman and yet they both speak and think as a young teenage girl. The plot in very thin as are the relationships between the characters. To make matters worse, it is an incomplete book. There is no resolution to any of the random conflicts that are brought up. It stops practically mid-sentence followed by a release date for the next book in the "series". I would rate it zero if there was an option.

For being in their early 20's their maturity level was just below 12. That made this painful. I wasn't impressed with the development between the two main characters. She seemed more enthralled and needy towards her bff then her bf. And I hated Bryce. There was no redeeming qualities to him...he was just shallow 2-dimensional character that bagges two virgins and didn't seem to think anything was wrong with not sharing that fact. And the ending? That wasn't a cliff hanger. That was a I have no idea what else to write and my deadline is tomorrow type of ending.

Another book that wont get my money because of the ending. Why are authors doing this to books? What happened to a decent stand alone? With a proper ending? It seems to be more about the money than the art of writing.

This is a good book...I would recommend! I'm just ready for the sequel now. :) I'm voting for Luke...I just don't like Bryce.

This book was noooooooootttttt good at all. The characters were suppose to be in their early twenties not pre teens or teenagers. The spelling was wrong through out the book as well and i think the writer forgot what she would put in the story earlier in the beginning of the book. The reason i gave two stars was because the book did have a good storyline.

Complete waste of time. Simple and mindless.

The spelling is so wrong! Aren't there editors anymore? As far as content, not to bad, but i hate they break up what should be one book into two. Don't know if i'll bother with the 2nd one or not

I just don't know how to respond to this book! First off, it has a huge cliffhanger ending, and there are sooo many secrets! What's crazy is that even when you find out one secret, along comes another one! I'm not sure if I'm going to like Bryce or not. Lexi has held onto this idea of him, and it's gonna be hard for him on that pedestal. Then there is the whole best friend triangle where one friend(Anna) likes the other(Luke), but he likes Lexi. Geez! I don't know if just one sequel can finish this story!!!

I had a blast reading Scarred, it is well written and the characters are well developed. J. S. Cooper takes a really interesting premise and weaves it into an engaging story that keeps readers on their toes. This is a must-read folks, you'll love it!

I wasn't sure what to expect when I bought this book but it was fabulous. I bought it late at night and stayed up really late reading it because I just had to know what was going to happen. I really liked the main character Lexi but I wished that she had a bit more of a clue. I may also be in the minority here but I loved Luke, a whole lot more than Bryce. Bryce seemed so selfish and not good enough for Lexi. I was also shocked to find out the secret he was hiding from her. I was so upset that I cried. Thank you for this wonderful book Mrs. Cooper, I can't wait to read the next one!

Scarred was amazing. I thought I knew what was going to happen but I was totally wrong. This book had it all: lust, love, betrayal and two hot guys. OMG! I can't stop thinking about the end! I need the next book now!

I really loved this book a lot. I love new adult romance's and bad boys and boy oh boy, was Bryce a bad boy. But he was also so sweet and caring. However, I also loved Luke. I just don't know who Lexi should choose but I can't wait to find out. I highly recommend this book. It was a great read.

The authors writing was quite juvenile. The intentions were pretty interesting but she repeated herself a lot and made a bunch of errors. Also I'm 23, while the characters were my age, they acted like my 12 year old sister. Some parts were kinda interesting but it was rushed and I was pretty bored. I wouldn't waste your time or money. Unless of course you enjoy pure amateur writing that is super rushed and immature. I won't be buying the sequel. Sorry Cooper. Maybe try more in depth writing next time that's a little more fitting to the character's ages.

Scarred tells the story of young love, lust, and hurt. Since I read the sample for this book and bought it I haven't put it down since. I love a good romance with a twist. The characters are well developed and very relatable, especially for young people. I love that the story is told from both Lexi and Bryce's perspective so you know how they both feel about each other. I love how realistic it is and shows that love isn't perfect, it's a MUST read. And what a cliffhanger at the end! I can't wait for the sequel, March 22 come faster!!

I could not put this book down! It is almost 500 pages and I read it in 3 hours! The author was very clever by starting to talk about something and then changing the subject. It made me want to keep reading to find out what happened! I cant wait until March 22nd for the next book! Talented author! Keep up the good work and thanks for the great read!

This is more of an attempt at a story than a book. The plot is flat and the grammar is bad. The story could have been interesting if it wasn't so predictable. There is no real character development and I agree the characters all seem immature for their supposed ages. This story lacks the vivid details that really make a book a great read and ends on a cliff hanger that really seems like a ploy to make readers spend more money to read the end of this story. There wasn't enough content in this to really justify the need for another edition regardless of the ending or not. Any potential action or conflict in this story was glossed over. All around this would be (maybe) worth reading if it were completely free and finished. Otherwise be ready to spend your money on an incomplete amateur story that will leave you unsatisfied.
