I had to buy a second copy because my first copy was stolen by a jealous party guest within hours of receiving it. I finished reading "A Scattering of Imperfections" yesterday. It was the beginning of a long and amazing spirit journey which ended with me waking up naked and sunburned on the shores of the Gila river, and with a permanent tattoo on my face. I had to hitchhike back home 200 miles this morning, but as I drank Tecate in the bed of my new Cherokee friends' F-150, I realized it was all worth it a thousand times over. I highly recommend this book to all!

Guarascio blends honest, self-deprecating observations, passionate ruminations, and ironic freewheeling musings in this satisfying collection of poems. "Hands," "Jane Doe Found Under the 4th Street Bridge," and "Broken Dolls" are among the many standout poems. A Scattering of Imperfections is anything but; Each poem is a neatly wrapped gift giving the reader a focused snapshot of this young poet's life. Was this review helpful?
