Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Phyllis Kennemer
The twins, Lottie and Mia, have super powers when they link their pinkie fingers and whisper a magical charm. At first they are excited about a new boy at school, but it appears that Max is a bully and does not know how to be friends with anyone. He pushes to the front of the line at library time; he grabs a book as Lottie reaches for it; and he throws the ball into a tree when he is asked to wait his turn for the foursquare game. The twins' friend, Toby distracts the attention of the other students with his magic act while the twins join forces with their magical friend, Rosie the unicorn, to retrieve the ball from the tree branches. Once they are holding the ball, Lottie invites Max to take her place in the foursquare game. Max agrees and apologizes for being mean. He even tells a funny joke before the ball game resumes. The twins are glad they have made a super new friend. The illustrations feature likeable children with slightly oversize heads and big eyes. Beginning readers may find this book to be of interest. Part of the "Twin Magic" series. Reviewer: Phyllis Kennemer, Ph.D.
