Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Maggie Chase
If you are a sports fan, you are going to love this compilation of all the sports highlights for the year 2010. Beginning with brief re-caps of the "Top 10 Moments in Sports," the book then slides, tackles, travels, and skates through all the major types of sports played, from hockey to baseball to the Winter Olympics with oodles of summary charts for each sport and clear photos that capture great moments for each. They even go into the "Wild and Weird" competitions, such as the annual World Bog Snorkeling Championship held in Wales and the Toe Wrestling competition held in England each year (those British really know how to have fun!). It's an easy to browse book with an eye-catching and appealing layout that includes brightly colored page borders that separate and define each sport category. If you think the book looks familiar, it's because it has been published annually under the title Sports Illustrated Year in Sports but is now called Scholastic Year in Sports. Reviewer: Maggie Chase

Can't keep it on the shelf!

This book was purchased for a library in a children's hospital. Even with buying 3 copies at once, I can't keep up with the requests for it. Your sports-minded kid will love it!
