Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly - Publishers Weekly
For any anxious youngsters preparing to take the bus to school, the reassuring paper-over-board School Bus, Bunny Bus by Sam Williams, illus. by Stuart Trotter, offers tabs to pull and flaps to lift as a parade of bunnies large and small greet the bus in the morning and bid it farewell once they dismount at school. Children's Literature - Heidi Hauser Green
Capitalizing on beginning-of-the-school-year excitement, this is a brief book that follows a young bunny's school bus journey from the moment he is picked up at the bus stop to the time he is dropped off at school. The pages of this colorful tale are replete with push and pull tabs that will appeal to the eager little fingers of those perhaps three, four, and five years old. Even with the book's interactive features, however, it is hard to imagine readers older than the Kindergarten set being excited about this repetitive, ten-page book. Still, Stuart Trotter's bunnies are darling, and the sing-song nature of the text lends itself nicely to reading aloud. This could be a good book for parents to share with preschoolers who are getting used to their older siblings' absence each day. Alternatively, as one of several books in a back-to-school themed collection for kindergarteners, this could be a hit.
