In the third book in the series, Missy's class is putting on a play about George Washington Carver. Missy, of course, wants to be cast in the best, most exciting part. But Missy doesn't get a main part. She doesn't even get a speaking part. Missy does what she does best though--she turns her part into the most super duper royal deluxe part ever! This book features lively full-color illustrations throughout.

Early Praise for MISSY'S SUPER DUPER ROYAL DELUXE #1: PICTURE DAY
"I like how the illustrations show the action and expand the ideas . . . It's FANCY NANCY--only much, much better!" -Ruth Culham, Author of 6+1 TRAITS OF WRITING

Praise for MISSY'S SUPER DUPER ROYAL DELUXE #1: PICTURE DAY
"[Missy] adores ruffles, striped tights and lots of over-the-top accessories, a fascination that many young female readers will recognize and enjoy." -KIRKUS REVIEWS

Children's Literature - Vicki Foote
Missy likes attention and lots of it. In this beginning readers' chapter book, Missy is a young girl who has dreams of becoming a famous star. She does not want to go to school because she is only getting the part of a peanut in the school play. When her mother scoots her off to school, Missy finds that she forgot about the report that is due. Her classmates present fancy reports and when it is Missy's turn, she makes up some things and then has to see the teacher after school. In music class, they practice the school play, but Missy sings too loud and ends up being put in the back row. Things get worse when she cannot find her lunchbox and has to eat a school lunch while her classmates talk about all the good parts that they have in the play. When they present the play, Missy reluctantly dresses as a peanut, but then decides to try on some other costumes. Her classmate, Oscar, develops stage fright just as he is supposed to speak his role as George Washington Carver. Missy thinks some sparkle may help, so she dances out and in her boll weevil costume. She sings, becoming the star of the show, and soon Oscar and the other finish the play in style. A fun story in the "Missy's Super Duper Royal Deluxe" series, children will enjoy Missy, her classmates, and her attempts to be "Super Duper." Reviewer: Vicki Foote
