Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal
The author's intent is to present ideas on how to celebrate reading across grade levels and curriculum, involving teachers, administration, faculty, and students both in preparation and actual activities. She proposes that school libraries have a Book Event for the whole school. Her 17 themes, ranging from sports to library resources to poetry, cover basic steps, preparations two weeks before an event, a week before it, and then the actual program. Reading lists are included. All events require simple resources and are easy to follow even for school systems with extremely limited budgets. Their very simplicity suggests that they are most applicable to librarians new to the job with little experience in organizing programs.-Edith Ching, St. Albans School, Mt. St. Alban, Washington, DC Copyright 2004 Reed Business Information.
