This was a wonderful story that was packed into only 57 pages. The novella held my interest from beginning to end and brought out many emotions as I read. It had the requisite happily ever after but also so much more throughout. There were detailed descriptions of the locations that made you feel that you were there. The main characters had depth as did the storyline.
There was fear, anguish, angst, tears, smiles, family, laughter, love and romance. There was such an overwhelming loss of family by both Hettie and Caleb who seemed made for each other the moment they met and whose love would go far to help ease the pain.
I have not read books by Jager before but definitely will add her to my TBR pile. I look forward to reading more of her writing although I do hope some are a little longer in length.
Favorite Quote: …She stared into his pleading eyes. This man she’d met less than a day ago already held her spellbound. She nodded, and he released his hold, relief lifting the lines in his face.

Dumb, stupid and trite. Thank god it was only 159 pages. A total waste of time and money.
