Schubert: Schwanengesang / Brahms: Vier Ernste Gesangeby Thomas Quasthoff
Mr. Quasthoff has a gorgeous, rich voice and a visceral connection to music and words; as you listen to him channel the "Schwanengesang," doors seem to open in your head. His reading of Brahms's "Four Serious Songs" is pretty fine, but the Schubert is in a class by itself.
