I have just gotten the sample-the1442 page sample- and I'm way impressed with this. I won't even have to buy it for quite a while... : )

This a great compilation of sci-fi from way back when that any true fan of sci-fi can appreciate. If nothing else, it's a great look at a variety of writing styles and topics that you can flip through and compare. As with any compilation of this size, there are a few duds, some real gems and a lot of good stories in between. For us older guys, its a trip through our sci-fi youth. Well worth the price at any rate.

These compilations are wonderful, full of excellent stories and so cheap. The only downside is they have poor table of contents, someone on here posted the pages for each item and the authors, check it out, it will help.

I got the (huge) sample and sure enough there is no table of contents, much less one that is linked to each item. Sad that B&N sells so many of these sub-par public domain/cheap texts, some with lots of OCR errors, others with no TOC. The etext converter app Calibre has a way to add TOCs based on the fact that individual titles are in a different font size and I will try that on the free sample.

This is a wonderful collection of books from my youth. Many of these books shaped the man to come. My love of science, litrature, the universe around me. These dusty old scrolls contain powerful spells of an ancient and dark magik. Read them at your own risk.

Is this really 150 works? I only count about 100 in the table of contents unless some of these are short atory collections. Despite that, still a five star collection of vintage sci fi.

I purchased this and had to make my own table of contents as it did not have one. It is also suppose to be 150 stories but IS NOT. There are only 89! Not quite as advertized! Very disappointed!

There were a lot of stories here that I had never heard of before. That's what I enjoyed the most. All of the classics, and tons of unknown sleepers as it were.
