I hope you will enjoy such masterpieces as “Exile” or “Sand Doom” as much as I did. This compilation is dedicated to the hardcore fan.

It is worth the .99. Basicly is like a monthy issue of a pulp magazine. Some very good stories and authors, some good.

Wow. I forgot how good this stuff was.

This is a great little gem of a compilation of hardcore sci-fi pulp that will not disappoint. Yes, some of the stuff is no politically correct and would have trouble passing the censors of today's fiction, but by God, it is fun and exciting to read! I liked it.

    A very fun read.

Golden age non PC stories. Amusing in light of modern scientific knowledge, but still a fun read

    more from this reviewer

    Brief

The stories are good enough, but the collection is almost painfully brief, with the first story being perhaps a dozen pages long. Also, I'm not exactly sure how these are prime examples of "before PC". Just... rather average pulp. But... for a buck, I suppose I can't really complain.

Reminded me of why I got hooked on Sci Fi to begin with.

The stories were good, The Players and specially Sand Doom were top tier. The Exile was as exciting as a good old Western. The Slingshot wasn't up to par with the rest of the book and Droozle was kind of strange, since it left me waiting for the punch line that was never delivered.

Overall I thought it was a good read. Illustrations were at a minimum, and in some cases hard to make out. Would I read it again? Yes. It was good.
