A must for the black woman who wants to feel empowered when making haircare decisions.

I sent my first copy to my mother, who lives in Atlanta, so I could share with her the wonders of this book. It's been 2 days, and I've just ordered another copy. I could not be with out this great reference book any longer. As I embark on my new haircare journey, TSOBH has realized my dream of having a head full of beautiful and healthy textured hair!

    Worth every cent

This book is a complete guide to EVERYTHING you need to know in regards to Black hair. Not only does she talk a good talk, but has the scientific proof to back it up. I've been following the author since 2006 on the LHCF and her associated content articles. Her concrete advice, tips, and general opinion about how to grow and retain black hair is amazing! keep up the great work

Must Read for All Kinky-Haired People

This book is awesome. I've read it from cover to cover several times. I go back occasionally to reread excerpts or chapters to refamiliarize myself with it's content. I'd worn my damaged, kinky hair relaxed for several years, but now I have beautiful long and healthy natural hair and this book provided the knowledge I needed to achieve that goal.

I highly recommend "The Science of Black Hair"

I found out so much about black hair from this book. I'm one of the people they talk about who buy so many different products but these products are not necessarily good for your hair type. I really appreciate that they list products for you to choose from.

Good reference but get the hard copy

The information is the best out there-bar none, but get the actual book. You can not read any of the diagrams or inserts in the ebook despite how big you make the font.

Great resource for anyone who has (or wants to touch) black hair!

This book is a very well written resource for anyone with hair. Throughout my life I have had natural hair and only now do I feel like I completely know my hair. After my son was born in 2009 my hair was full and healthy. In 2011 my hair began to shed to the point of worry. While watching many youtube videos on natural hair I heard about this book. All those hours of watching videos had finally paid off! For so long I made my own oil concoctions for nourishing my hair, but guessed when it came to shampoo and conditioner. Now I have the confidence and the knowledge to buy products that will have my hair thriving again. I may never have long hair but this book is helping me get my hair healthy again. Thank you Mrs. Audrey!

    The black hair BIBLE!

This book is nothing short of amazing! I have a totally new understanding of how to care for my tresses and why I would care for them in a particular way. The author goes into the biological structure of black hair. Albeit the terminology could possibly confuse someone. However, the author takes care in describing what each word means and how it applies to our hair. I have read and studied many blogs and websites about black hair. I feel that the people who wrote said blogs or created said websites really needs to educate themselves by reading this book. It's a fresh new look on hair care regimens and products for black women. It tells you why it's important to deep condition and advises us on how to grow healthy, beautiful long hair! This is a MUST read for both relaxed and natural black hair women! I don't care who you are, knowledge is power! Praises to the author for answering many questions that we all have about our hair as black women.
