    Pure enjoyment!

After spending all those years at college reading scientific articles until my eyes went numb, I thought I was glad to be rid of such torture. For some reason I decided to try out the free subscription for this magazine, and I was impressed. I never thought I would miss science articles, but this magazine brought excitement to my day and stimulated my mind (I have a very boring job!) I think that the articles in the magazine are interesting, current, and relevant to some of the hot topics in the media. I feel that the articles are not crammed full of scientific terms and concepts, making this magazine appropriate for interested parties who may not have spent hours hovering over petri dishes in the science lab. I can't wait for my next issue. I would like to see some scientific journals available in the future.

A great magazine to keep up with modern science

Up front, for though who don't know, this is magazine covers biological/life science only. Personally, this was my favorite subject in college. While I ended up not making that my profession and switched majors in college, I never stopped enjoying reading up on what was going on in the field. This magazine helps satisfy my curiosity.

The articles are all fairly short and to the point and the only pictures in the emag are those at the front of each article. In some instances, I feel this could be a shortcoming of the magazine since many people are visual learners and one or two articles could benefit from multiple means of explanation. Most articles however need no images to get the point across.

I recommend this to people with at least some basic understanding of life sciences since there's a lot of jargon and references that could be otherwise confusing. However, it's not completely inaccessible to people outside the profession, such as myself. Clearly they are trying to cater to the everyone in the field of life sciences, where most professionals specialize, so they seek to find some common ground when writing these articles and explaining the significance of the piece. Personally, I feel it's important that they take this approach since it can be easy to get tunnel vision and miss potentially important connections or inspiration in other fields of study.
