This is the guide to help you experience all that is excellent in Scotland. Whether visiting on pleasure or business, why settle for second-rate when you can be guided to so much that is superb? Scotland the Best! provides thousands of recommendations including the very best of nearly everything: places to stay and to eat (whatever your budget), beaches, ice cream, and hill walks, bakers, haunted sites, and seafood, places to take the kids, hear music, buy clothing. This new edition-now expanded, updated, and revised-is the best ever. Peter Irvine has reassessed every recommendation to see whether it is still worthy of inclusion and added newly discovered gems to all existing categories.

This is a book of lists, not a guidebook. It has some interesting information about various sites, restaurants, lodgings, etc. I know this book has received rave reviews. However, I cannot give it one. I suppose I could recommend this book as a secondary reference but never as a basic or primary guidebook.
