I came to Hollywood 3 years ago living and breathing the ¿No Fear¿ motto, and ignorance of the reality of Hollywood and the BUSINESS of acting was bliss. And helpful in many ways¿ at first. But like a dog that keeps running into the closed sliding-glass door to get outside, I inevitably kept getting knocked upside the head over and over again by not learning about some of the obstacles in my way, many of them that I had put there or that I was unwilling to face. And that whole "No Fear" thing I tried to project I've now learned was a guise in itself to keep me from acknowledging my actual fears. This book presents what most actors (and people in general) hate to face, and that is themselves. Their own fears that keep them from success and that lead them to failure, or at least to not achieving their true potential. Sedita gives many examples that are eye opening and that will hit you close to home. And at the same time, he encourages you and provides solutions that can not only help you be better at your craft, but be a more healthy and positive person. I appreciated his honesty and his lay-it-all-on-the-table approach. He asks you to be introspective, to be accountable to yourself and to those around you, and not blame others. If you¿re willing, I am sure you can help yourself by reading and more importantly, putting into practice the ideas in this book. I have.
