This is an imaginative, colorful book that keeps you wondering what will happen next. You are transported to another world where magic meets ingenuity. Almost a Harry Potter meets Inspector Gadget kind of world. David Burtons descriptions include such wonderful detail you can almost see yourself there! Even though I purchased this for my 12 year old, I truly enjoyed reading it and look forward to see where this series will take us in future books. This is a must have for every middle school child's bookshelf!!

Overview
Two dads, five siblings, and goggles! Grim Doyle has always known his life was not exactly "normal", and things get even more curious when he discovers a set of stones that sweep him and his family to the fantasy, steampunk world of Verne - a place they had escaped from years ago. Now that they've returned, Grim and his siblings hide from the evil Lord Victor and his minions. And while learning about Jinns, Mystics, and the power of absinth they try to discover who is trying to kill them with the deadly Scourge.NOTE: Scourge includes a color map of the World of Verne (great for Nook Color!)
