These hangman games with movie themes are as much fun to solve as the best film noir mysteries are to watch. In each puzzle, there are 26 scratch-off circles with numbers hidden underneath. The scratch off stuff doesn't come off, unless you scratch it with a coin, then sort of wet it, then rub at it and scratch it some more. My son is miserable with this book.

but the silver stuff doesn't always scratch off cleanly and then you've got all this loose silver stuff... it was messy... I did 4 or 5 of them and then threw it away.

I bought this book a while back to pass the time for a trip I was going on...Needless to say I've never been able to use it! The silver scratch off spots don't work. I've used coins, my finger nails, anything that could possibly scratch something off and nothing. I even ended up scratching a hole in the page. I've heard some people say that they've worked and others say they haven't. What gives? This would be a fun game if only it wasn't so ridiculously difficult. It was a waste of my money.

The idea for this hangman book was a good one. Our family took a vacation from North Carolina to Florida on an Amtrak train. We bought this book to pass the time. I have two children 12 and 15. They never got a "hangman" once. The answers were way too easy. The book might have challenged someone 7 years old but the words were too small and too obvious. They were based movie titles and actors. This book did not entertain them for very long and they were bored with it. If they had not scratched it I may have returned it. The other problem is that the book can only be used once. Once the letters are scratched off they can not be done again.
