Children's Literature

A must have for elementary schools and anyone who has encountered the hassles of head lice.

Children's Literature - Katie DeWald
The kingdom of Hairia has a "lousy" problem; they have been invaded by head lice. The king, an aging rock star, issues musical decrees to destroy the lice. The kingdom of Hairia, in response to the king's orders, washes their hair, then brushes their hair with a single hairbrush, and finally everyone cuts their hair short. Even though "no scratching" signs are posted, none of the king's ideas have any effect on the lice. Princess Primrose dreads cutting her beautiful hair to escape the scratching. The Hairy Godmother arrives to save Princess Primrose's long hair and offers a special comb, special shampoo, and good advice for getting rid of the lice. A great story that uses humor to tell kids what does and does not work to eliminate head lice and stop the scratching for good. This book from the "I Am Reading" series will be very helpful to use in discussing this common rite of childhood and in disarming the stigma behind the pesky critters. If Princess Primrose and the entire kingdom of Hairia can get lice, how bad can it be? A must have for elementary schools and anyone who has encountered the hassles of head lice.
