Meet the Author

Glen E. Getz, PhD, ABN, is a clinical neuropsychologist in the Department of Psychiatry at Allegheny General Hospital and an assistant professor at the Drexel University College of Medicine. His responsibilities at Allegheny General include evaluating both inpatient and outpatient populations, providing CBT interventions with psychiatric patients, performing cognitive based research within the Center for Neuroscience Research, and supervising clinical psychology interns, psychiatry residents, and graduate students. In 2003, he was awarded a Young Investigator Award from the American Neuropsychiatric Association and was recently selected for a three-year term on the Scientific Committee of Division 40 of the American Psychological Association (Clinical Neuropsychology.) He has published over 30 full-length articles, abstracts, and book chapters and co-authored the third edition of Screening for Brain Impairment with Michael Franzen (Springer Publishing Company, 2010).

Michael D. Franzen earned his PhD in Clinical Psychology from Southern Illinois University in 1983 and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at the University of Nebraska Medical School in 1984. From 1985 to 1994 Dr. Franzen held various professorships and directorships at the West Virginia University Medical Center. Since 1994, he has been the Director of Neuropsychology at the Allegheny Neuropsychiatric Institute and Chief Neuropsychologist at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Dr. Franzen is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and the National Academy of Neuropsychology. He is a co-author or co-editor of a dozen books and the co-author of over 100 journal articles and book chapters. He is on the editorial board for the Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology, Neuropsychology Review, Journal of Forensic Neuropsychology, and Clinical Neuropsychological Assessment.
