This author asks the questions I ask and suggests thoughtful answers which are based on history, philosophy and scripture. A learned scholar, he speaks from the vantage point of serious scholarship and commitment. The book is written in a manner that is both understandable and inspirational to the reader. I am especially impressed with rhe articulation of the Christian hope which is an anticipation of the time when God's "kingdom comes and His will is done on earth as it is in heaven". "Scripture and the Authority of God" makes clear that the Bible is much more than a compilation of rules for living. He provides the reader with a deeper understanding of what scripture is and suggests ways it ought to be taught and learned individually and within the context of the church.
