Talk about sizzling heat with a statue! Whew. I needed a fan to get through this scorching hot read.
If you want a story that'll make you grin and squirm, then you need to read Sculpting a Demon. I knew when I opened this story, I was in for a treat. Having been a former art major, I know the fun to be had while sculpting. I felt like I was right there with Lila, creating the spell and the man embodied in the statue. The pacing is fantastic; I got through the book in one sitting and flipped back to reread the good parts.
Lila is quirky, like any good artist should be. She's tired of the run-around with men. I could totally relate to the time-suck art can be. When creating great works, time flies. It's also crummy for dating. I loved how she put herself out there when he arrived. Her pluckiness and sass was hilarious. Her emotions were written in such a vivid fashion, I felt them right along with her.
Arien. Ah... if a man were to come alive from a sculpture or spell... it'd be him Yum. He wants to be loved, not used. I liked that even though he is a vessel for carnal desires, he's got a human side. He won't be used forever. And I loved how he fell for her when he saw Lila. The instant connection sizzled. I'm shivering thinking about it.
Now this book isn't a simple winged boy meets girl. There are plot twists and little things happening around every corner you just won't see coming. I didn't and it made the story richer.
If you want a story with a sweet mix of art, demons, redemption and hot sex, then you need to read Sculpting a Demon. I give this book 4.5 cherries. Well done.

When Hurricane Angie blows into town she decides all work and no play makes Lila a dull girl. With no prospect in site Angie decides she needs to give Lila a little help in the bedroom department by performing a love spell. Arien wants more out of life but he's not sure what he wants when suddenly he hears a voice calling to him. A voice he must answer.
This was such a fun story filled with sex and giggles. The characters were just great. Arien is all mischief and raging libido but inside he just this swoon worthy lovable demon. Lila is so sweet and quiet but inside fire and passion. Together the are so combustable. I loved the flow of the story which was very well paced although I think the end was rushed and ended abruptly. There is one secondary character in the story that stuck my fancy and I'm kind of hoping he gets his own story. Please Ms. Fox, give Dyne a HEA!
Sculpting a Demon will satisfy anyone who enjoys sexy sweet demons. I know I am.
