One night while working as a bartender in a local pool hall, she receives a recruitment scroll by angelic courier from the Office of Death and Dismemberment, a subsidiary of heaven, to become a Scythe. Detective Josiah Adler comes from a long line of police officers. Over the course of his career there have been very few crimes he hasn't been able to solve. So when a blonde beauty shows up around dead bodies wielding a golden blade, Josiah wants
