I paddled for two years before picking up this book and gulping it down in a few marathon reading sessions. You can gain a decade of experience reading Deep Trouble if you pay attention. The true stories of what can go wrong while paddling and just how bad things can get if you aren't prepared changed the way I paddle, look at the water and weather, what I carry and where I carry it. This book is a must read for anyone getting in their kayak, especially when the cooler temperatures hit. When you pursue a hobby that has the potential to kill you, you must learn to pay attention. This book will give you a huge wake up call. I loved it and am a safer paddler because of it.
